Please be kind! Our rescue is run solely on the time and talent of our volunteers who also have full-time jobs, families and foster responsibilities. Please allow 24-72 hours for response from emails and applications. We appreciate your understanding – Thank you!
RESCUE REQUESTS/ SURRENDERING A PET TO US
As a foster-based rescue, we are limited on the number of cats that we can support and unfortunately, right now we are over capacity. If you can wait until we have space available, please use our Intake Form to request an intake and we will evaluate and get back to you when we have capacity. A couple other options to consider:
- If you’re in St Charles County, MO, you can call the St Charles County Pet Adoption Center: 636-949-7387
- If you’re in St Louis County, MO, Call the APA and ask for an intake date: 314-645-4610.

We will always take the cats/kittens that were adopted from Smelly Cat Rescue should an adopter no longer be able to care for them. If this is your situation please include in the email your cat’s name, adopters name, and reason for needing to return, or use our Intake Form to request an intake.
