We can accomplish great things with a little help from our Friends.
While a big part of what our volunteer organization does is in-home fostering, there are so many other ways that someone can contribute and help Smelly Cat Rescue achieve our mission. Whether you can volunteer two hours a week or several, there is a role for you. Here are some ways volunteers help our organization that are outside of physically caring for cats and kittens.
Fundraising & Event Planning: Our Fundraising committee plans and executes events within our community. Annually we host a golf tournament, trivia, but would like to add in even more fun with a little help from our Friends.
Sponsorship Coordination: This committee seeks out support from the community to sponsor events, cats adoptions, and more. Companies and individuals contribute in turn for increased brand exposure through events, event advertising, and media coverage making it a win for both the sponsor and Smelly Cat Rescue.
Transporting Cats: This team assists with driving cats to and from appointments, adoptions, and fosters. Most of the need is local to St. Louis & St. Charles County and fuel is reimbursed. Having transportation help is such a relief allowing our foster team to continue to care for the cats and kittens in their care.
Grant Writing & Submission: We are looking for experienced volunteers to assist us in implementing a grant management software that will allow SCR to seek out financial support given to nonprofits by corporations, foundations, or government agencies.
Marketing & Media: This committee works to raise community awareness and publicity by assisting with SCR’s social media platforms, website content, emails, and more.
Administration: These volunteers help with our accounting, paperwork, supply ordering, scheduling vet appointments, and communicating with adopters. Yeah, all the things that are key to keeping our rescue running smoothly.
